Oh my goodness. This place was amazing. The food was good there, and it did take a long time, like some reviewers mentioned. But I had a lot of leftovers since we were there for a family gathering, so when I got back to the hotel and got hungry around 1:30am, I ate my leftovers room temp and it was AMAZING! It's like the flavors melded even more! I know I probably annoyed my kid as I kept saying, "OH MY GOSH" after every single bite! Hahah.
We got tons of appetizers, the lamb kabob, beef kabob, shrimp, scallop and salmon kabob and the baklava.
At 1:30am the baklava was dripping with sugary butter flavor after every bite. Writing this now is making me want some now! Too bad I'm back in Cali now, haha, -

I couldn't have brought in the new year of my life in a better way! As a huge fan of Turkish Cuisine, I was impressed. Believe it or not, this was the first place that I had grape leaves served as a hot dish. And now that I have there is no going back! The first time I had grape leaves was at a restaurant in Houston Texas. They serve their grape leaves chilled. I don't know if that was a common occurrence but now I know it's all wrong. I love the small plates and all the different flavors. This particular restaurant had a delicious eggplant appetizer. I cannot think of any of the dishes as anything but taste bud heaven. Natural flavors and juicy entrees were just seeping out of the crevices of this restaurant! The service was sufficient. The owner very warm and inviting.
I recommend this restaurant for you guys. If you're considering it go on in there and confidently spend your money on a delicious meal. I will be back. And that's saying something because I do not live in this neighborhood. -

I'm a big fan of Turkish cuisine. After having traveled to Turkey recently I've been having a craving to find some decently authentic Turkish food in the Seattle area.
We arrived to Ephesus on a Friday evening with reservations already in the books. Restaurant is on California Ave in West Seattle and away from all the noise, hustle, and bustle California Ave is known for. Restaurant is built within a cozy home-like setting with an open kitchen. As we entered the hostess greeted us briefly and sat us down immediately.
The menu has a variety of mezes and mains, lots of kebap options. I love anything lamb related so I opted for the Keema Kebap and for our meze I choose the eggplant platter and the sauteed mushrooms mantar. The waitress was pretty prompt in taking our order, no particular warm welcoming or ordering suggestions.
When our meze arrived I found the mushrooms overly salty. The flavor was there but it was a bit too salty for our taste. The eggplant platter was nothing to rave about as I didn't find anything that stood out about it.
As for the Kemma lamb kebap it was served over basmati rice, onions, and tomato. The lamb kebap was nicely minced with a good mixture of lean meat and bits of fat but I felt the flavor was lacking in terms of charring. Normally, in Turkish grilling the kebap will develop that immense "bbq char" flavor as fat drips down onto the hot coals. My kebap did not have any of that.
Overall, this place gets a solid 3 out of 5 stars. The customer service level did it's job. Sat us down and took our order, nothing less and nothing more. Food was not bad but nothing to hit home about, just a but bland. If I had a craving for turkish food I'd come again and try something else on the menu. -

In Istanbul's alleyways, mezze sampling lights up the senses and reaffirms the sublimity of simplest ingredients. At Ephesus, in exact opposition, the preparations defeat sensibilities and destroy potential. If only they hadn't a Turkish charade, one could pass off the dishes as of a white, insipid, suburban supper joint. But to serve a lamburger helper as Adana, or hopeless, over vinegared salad as an Ephesus salad, or a marination free salmon bake with boiled veggies and two desolate spoons rice as a Turkish entree - well it's hospital food that'll make you sick. Notwithstanding these duped patrons, ask real turks where they eat in Seattle, and they'll sigh in despair and tell you a sad story- about Ephesus!

Always been happy with the food here. Has a pretty good variety of everything. I love their Adana dish, it's sooo good. Staff is always nice too.
